European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The Polish tailoring company Zakład Produkcji Odzieży 'Exellent' will cut 200 jobs throughout a collective dismissal programme at its production facility in Iława. The redundancies will affect around 80% of the tailoring workforce - mostly seamstress positions. The company undertook this internal restructuring as a response to the socioeconomic consequences of COVID-19 pandemic. According to the company, measures included in the Anti-Crisis Shield (a package of laws aimed to support Polish companies amid the growing pandemic) will be insufficient to deal with the effects of the pandemic.
Exellent was found in 1947; the company designs and manufactures men clothing. The company currently employs 250 workers in the tailoring department. Since 2005, Exellent has also been an international transport provider.
