European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Polish producer of electric components for the automotive industry, Bury, announced that it will cut 500 jobs through a collective dismissal programme at its production facility in Mielec, Poland. Redundancies will be carried out by 10 October 2020. The programme is related to the Covid-19 pandemic and was registered by the company at the local employment agency in Mielec. The restructuring programme is associated with a drop in demand which has affected the automotive industry generally.
Bury, a family company, was founded in 1987; currently, the company operates in Poland, Germany and Mexico, employing about 2,000 people. The company supplies its products to such companies as Daimler, Volkswagen, Audi, BMW and Porsche.
