European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The aeronautical equipment manufacturer Safran Transsmision Systems Poland, a subsidiary of Safran group, announced that it will cut 150 jobs at its production facility in Sędziszów Małopolski, Poland. The programme is related to the COVID-19 pandemic and a drop in demand which has affected the aviation sector. Affected workers will receive additional solidarity payment in the amount of PLN 1,400 (€317 as at 29 July 2020) for a period up to three months.
In June 2020, Safran announced job cuts across all divisions in Europe (3,512 jobs), primarily in Poland, the UK, France and Germany.
Safran is a French multinational aircraft engine, rocket engine, aerospace-component defence and security supplier. At the end of 2019, Safran employed 95,000 people worldwide. Safran Transsmision Systems Poland has been operating in Poland since 2001; currently, the company employs about 750 people at the site in Sędziszów aMałopolski.
