China-based global manufacturer of heavy construction equipment LiuGong Dressta Machinery has announced that it will cut 120 jobs throughout a collective dismissal programme at its production facility in Stalowa Wola, Poland. The programme will affect 48 production and 72 office staff. The programme is related to the COVID-19 pandemic and a drop in demand; the programme was registered by the company at the local employment agency in Stalowa Wola. The conditions of the programme were negotiated with the local trade unions.
The factory in Stalowa Wola has been operating since 1937. Currently, the factory employs about 1,000 employees. Dressta was acquired by LiuGong Machinery and renamed LiuGong Dressta Machinery in 2012.
