European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The Alzheimer’s Society, the British care and research charity for people affected by dementia and their carers, has announced that it will restructure the organisation and cut as many as 300 jobs, 20% of its workforce. The restructure is prompted by the negative impact of the COVID-19 crisis, which has reduced the Society’s income.
In a statement, the chief executive of the charity said the job cuts will primarily affect back office functions. The charity will also postpone research activities while improving and increasing its online services.
The Alzheimer’s Society was founded in 1979. It is a membership organisation, with 25,000 members in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The charity relies on donations from the public and corporate funders.
