European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The American fast food chain Burger King (in Italy, Burger King Restaurants Italia) announced the opening of 30 new restaurants all over the country by the end of 2020 and the hiring of 900 workers.
The announcement is part of a broader investment plan which entails the opening of 30 new restaurants every year over the period 2019-2022 with a total increase of the Italian workforce by 3,600 units. The announcement by the company shows that the COVID-19 pandemic did not stop the plan, but slowed its implementation.
