European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Macmillan Cancer Support, the British charity has announced plans to cut 310 jobs across the UK to compensate for the reduction in its income, caused by the COVID-19 crisis. Consultation with the affected employees has already started.
The charity’s chief executive said the pandemic is expected to reduce Macmillan’s fundraised income by £175 million (approximately €193 million as at 9 October 2020) by 2022 and added that the main aim was to protect the ‘Macmillan nurses’ service and the helpline for people living with cancer, both of which have seen increased demand since the start of the pandemic.
Macmillan Cancer Support is one of the largest British charities. It provides specialist health care, information and financial support to people affected by cancer and campaigns for better cancer care. It was established in 1911 and it currently relies on public donations for 98% of its income.
