Northern Automotive Systems, the British vehicle parts manufacturer has confirmed that it will cut 130 jobs at its site in Gilwern, South Wales by the end of 2020. The restructuring is part of a cost cutting programme designed partially in response to the UK leaving the European Union.
A spokesperson for the company said the aim of restructuring was ‘to become more attractive to UK-based customers’ and save as many UK-based jobs as possible.
Northern Automotive Systems makes decorative aluminium trim for the automotive industry. The company is part of the NBHX Trim Group and operates only the Gilwern site in the UK.
