Description
J C Bamford Excavators (also known as JCB), the UK-based company which manufactures equipment for construction, agriculture and waste handling, has announced plans to recruit 400 agency workers in jobs including assembly, welding and fork lift truck driving. The company will also transfer 300 workers employed on agency contracts to permanent contracts.
The chief operating officer said the business expansion was a response to production reaching the level at which it was in March 2020, before the COVID-19 pandemic hit the UK economy.
JCB is a family-run business that was founded in 1945 in Staffordshire, England. Before the pandemic, the company employed 6,700 people in the UK, either directly or through agencies. In May 2020, the company announced plans to make over 1,000 jobs redundant.
