The German pharmaceutical group Merck has announced the recruitment of 350 employees, including 80 in 2021, at its site in Molsheim (Bas-Rhin) which specialises in the manufacture of tools for the detection of microbiological pollutants.
The group announces an investment of €25 million to develop the site's production capacity from 2021. The investment will be destined to the creation of a new production unit for 'single-use assemblies', that is watertight bags are used in the manufacturing process of vaccines, such as those currently being developed against COVID-19.
Merck Molsheim employs than 1,700 and it is the group's third largest site worldwide. Currently, the site has three production units representing its three major activities: BioMonitoring, Lab Water Solutions & Instruments, and Systems and Solutions.
