Description
Brink's Solutions Belgium, a company specialised in the transportation of money or other valuables, has announced that it will decrease its workforce by 98 employees. . The company plans to merge its Kortrijk and Antwerp branches into a new location at Groot-Bijgaarden, in the Ghent region.
The company has been faced with decreased turnover in recent years due to the reduction in cash payments. The current COVID-19 pandemic has made the company's situation increasingly difficult, as even less cash was spent due to lockdown measures across the country and the closing of shops, especially in the sectors where cash was traditionally strong.
According to the trade union, the situation of affected employees is still not clear for the moment, and the next meeting is planned on 9 June. Under the newly initiated Renault law, employees will be informed of the restructuring details via work councils.
