European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The Chinese battery manufacturer Contemporary Amperex Technology Thuringia GmbH (CATL) announced it will hire 1500 new employees from the region of Arnstadt in Thuringia, Germany.
CATL will start their production in the new built factory in the second half of 2022. Until then, 1500 new employees will be hired and added to the already 500 existing employees in the region of Arnstadt. CATL plans to invest around 1,8 Billion Euro in the new built factory to produce batteries for around 120.000 electric cars with a capacity of 8 gigawatt hours per year.
CATL is the biggest Chinese manufacturer of lithium-ion batteries. The factory in Arnstadt is the first CATL factory outside of China.
