Description
Dutch fashion chain C&A announced the closure of two shops in Paris by the end of 2022, and145 jobs are at risk.
The company has informed the trade unions representatives about the planned closures of the shops on Boulevard Haussmann and Rue de Rivoli. According to the management, 'the company has positioned itself on options for redeployment, training and mobility in the various French regions'.
According to the trade union FO, the management is hiding behind financial difficulties that have been known for almost a decade, but which they thought they could circumvent with a lease negotiation technique. C&A will only have two Parisian sites left (Montparnasse and La Défense).
