European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Eurocash Group, a Polish wholesale distribution company of fast-moving consumer goods, launched a collective dismissal programme for 610 of its employees from different departments over the next two years across Poland. The agreement was concluded in July 2022 after consultations with trade unions. According to the group, the measure was necessary to support local competitiveness and adapt to the current market. Instead of dismissal, the employees involved in the restructuring plan will also be able to choose wheter to change their position within the company.
Eurocash has been operating in Poland for 26 years. Currently, it employs 21,277 people in Poland.
A previous internal restructuring event was recorded in the ERM database in June 2020 and resulted in the reduction of 1,000 jobs (Eurocash-Group-2020-PL).
