European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Panasonic AVC Networks Czech, a Czech subsidiary of the Japanese electronics company, will strengthen the production of heat pumps in its Pilsen site with an investment of € 145 million and hire up to 2,000 workers by 2026. Panasonic wants to increase the annual production capacity to 500 thousand units. Recruitment campaign has been already launched.
The plant in Pilsen, where the production of televisions ceased in March 2022, is currently undergoing renovation. According to the head of company trade unions, Jan Dvořák, there are now about 350 permanent workers and about 100 agency workers in the factory.
The extended production of heat pumps should start as early as April 2023 and further investments and capacity increase will continue until 2026.
