European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The German supermarket chain Lidl will increase its investment in the Portugal and €125 million will be allocated in the intervention in 19 units and the opening of six stores, which will lead to the recruiment of 120 workers.
Lidl has been established in Portugal since 1995. In 2022, the company Lidl Portugal employs more than 8,200 workers, distributed in more than 260 stores in Portugal.
Lidl belongs to the Schwarz group, the largest European retailer and one of the five largest retailers worldwide, which also includes the Kaufland chain.
