Description
Floricultura, a Dutch company active in wholesale of flowers and plants, has announced to cut 100 out of 500 jobs in its factories in Heemskerk and Assendelft. Floricultura sells orchids and tropical plants to growers. Many growers are running into problems due to increasing gas and electricity prices: companies in the sector go bankrupt or voluntarily stop production. This has caused Floricultura to lose many customers in a short period of time. The company lost about 20% of its turnover and as a result it is forced to downsize the organisation.
The company hopes to limit the number of compulsory redundancies with a voluntary severance arrangement.
