European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Club Med has announced that in December the opening of its new resort in Tignes (Savoie) will create 300 to 400 jobs. This expansion is part of the company's strategic repositioning for a new competative advantage in the luxury vacation market. The group has invested a total of €128.9 million in order to position itself in the high-end hotel market.
Founded in 1950, Club Med is estimated to employ 25,000 workers across 40 countries and is viewed as a leader in all-inclusive holiday services.
Previous business expansions were recorded in the ERM Database, including the creation of 220 jobs in Spain (Club Med-2021-ES) and 101 job losses in 2009 (Club Med-2009-FR).
