Description
Glass Contribution, a Bulgarian glassware manufacturer, has announced it will open 150 new jobs at its Rubin plant in Pleven. The new jobs come as a result of an investment worth BGN 100 million (EUR 51,1 million) in the company’s factory in Pleven. Part of the investment will be towards installing a new 300-ton furnace which will be built be German companies.
Glass Contribution has already finished the implementation of the first two stages of its investment program for updating the equipment and towards ensuring sustainable employment at the plant. The company will now be proceeding with the implementation of the third stage - the construction of the 300-tonne furnace and increasing in workforce capacity. For these developments Glass Contribution was recently awarded two certificates for a Class A investor.
**Updated 24.07.2025 **
The Rubin glass factory in Pleven has completed a BGN 250 million (EUR 125 million) investment to modernise its three glass furnaces—one of the largest industrial investments in Northwest Bulgaria in recent decades. A new high-tech float furnace has been installed, featuring an innovative ignition and thermal control system developed by Excelsius Global Services—used for the first time worldwide in an industrial glass furnace. German company Nikolaus Sorg contributed advanced burner technology allowing more efficient production.
150 new jobs will be opened, raising the total workforce to over 600. Average salaries at the plant now exceed the regional average by more than 20%, boosting the local economy. The investment significantly strengthens Rubin’s competitiveness and supports long-term industrial growth in the region
