European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The Stellantis Group, an automotive manufacturer, has announced plans to hire 600 new production operators to work at the Figueruelas plant (Zaragoza) by July this year.
Specifically, these professionals will participate in the different stations of the assembly line for the construction of Opel Corsa, Opel Crossland and Citroën C3 Aircross vehicles, working in rotating morning-evening shifts or a fixed night shift.
The initial temporary, full-time contracts will be signed directly with Stellantis España. With these additional workers, the firm expects to increase daily production by almost 400 vehicles. Stellantis Group has recently announced additional hirings in other EU Member States, particularly Poland (see Stellantis-2023-PL and Stellantis-2023-PL).
Update 31/05/2023:
Stellantis has announced that the Vigo factory, where the Peugeot 2008 and e-2008 are manufactured, as well as several of the group's electric vans, will soon be recruiting 700 new people to recover the weekend shift. These new hires are expected to be made in September this year, following the recovery of the supply flows that affected production volumes in previous months.
