European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The Board of Directors of the French National Health Insurance (Assurance maladie) has approved a new agreement with the French government providing for up to 1,700 job cuts between now and 2027, subject to "productivity gains" and a "review clause" in two years' time. The job cuts will be very gradual, with 5% and then 10% of the 1,700 departures taking place over the next two years. This is equivalent to 250 jobs between now and the end of 2024. This represents around 2% of the total workforce of the organisation, which has 82,000 permanent employees. The 'staff cuts' will specifically target the 'payment of benefits' and the 'management of entitlements', thanks to 'productivity gains' linked to the computerisation of treatment forms, invoices and other forms. On the other hand, a reinforcement of human resources is promised in other areas, including access to rights and care, the fight against fraud and prevention programmes. A previous reorganisation has been recorded in the ERM Database with 3,950 job cuts announced in 2010 (FR-Assurance-Maladie-2010).
