European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Mercadona, the Spanish supermarket chain, has announced the creation of 150 new jobs in Boadilla del Monte, Madrid.
The reason behind this business expansion is the launching of a new logistics facility for online sales for which the company has invested 13.20 million Euros. This new facility will, from now on, provide services to several large towns in the Madrid area, such as Boadilla del Monte, Alcorcón, Villaviciosa de Odón, Leganés, Parla or Tres Cantos. The new logistics facility is intended to consolidate Mercadona’s online shopping business, which currently represents a total turnover of 540 million Euros and provides employment to 2,700 workers within Mercadona. The new logistics facility is the sixth one of Mercadona in Spain.
