European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The leading omnichannel retail trade company Studio Moderna Hrvatska has announced its bankruptcy, and the subsequent redundancy of 200 workers in Zagreb.
The bankruptcy is the result of a difficult financial situation that Studio Moderna has been in for years. The Commercial Court in Zagreb has issued the decision to open the bankruptcy process, after which there is a 60-day deadline for reporting creditors’ claims from Studio Moderna. According to media reports, out of the 409 workers, 200 have already been made redundant, while it is not yet certain what will happen to the remaining employees.
The company was established in 1997, and is known for the brands Top Shop, Dormeo, Delimano and Kozmodisk. Studio Moderna has had negative financial results in the last few years, for example, losing EUR 3.5 million in 2022.
