European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The Spanish Correos post office will hire 7,757 people starting 23 October 2023 in locations throughout the country.
The new employees will work in permanent employment positions to carry out delivery functions in urban and rural areas, logistics tasks and customer service in offices. New employees will be selected from those who successfully passed the company's entrance exams held on 7 May 2023.
This is the largest public employment offer announced by the company in recent decades. Initially, there were to be 5,377 vacancies, but in 2022 the call was extended to a total of 7,757. These posts come from different postponed calls in previous years.
The unions criticise that this job creation is insufficient as it does not guarantee the coverage of all structural posts in urban and rural delivery, as well as in offices and mail and parcel processing centres throughout the country.
