European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The state enterprise Lesy České republiky (LČR), which manages forests in Czechia, has announced that it will make 103 employees redundant by the end of 2023.
In most cases, the employment contracts will be voluntary terminated, some employees will retire or will be offered a new job within the organisation.
In the last six years, LČR has been troubled by bark beetle attacks in Czech forests and recruited many technical workers in forestry as well as seasonal workers. At present, the strongest impact of the calamity is subsiding, leading to the decision to implement an internal restructuring plan.
The main activity of the company, which currently employs about 3700 people, is the management of the majority of forests (1.17 million ha), which are owned by the state. LČR was founded in January 1992 by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic.
