European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Stora Enso, a Finnish manufacturer of wood- and biomass-based solutions has announced that it would lay off 61 employees in Estonia as a result of offshoring.
The production is being offshored to Poland and Czechia. The head of the Tallinn office Kati Kilk explained this decision with the company’s need to increase productivity within the organisation so the production will be brought closer to the centres.
According to the most recent data from Teatmik.ee, Stora Enso Estonia’s number of employees has decreased by 155 since the beginning of last year, the extra 61 will be added to this number. At the end of 2023, there were 569 employees in Stora Enso Estonia.
