European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Metro de Madrid, the public transport operator serving the region of Madrid, is set to expand its workforce with 315 new train drivers and 105 area managers. A total of 150 of these new train drivers and 60 new area managers will join the company in the first half of 2024, whereas the remainder group will be gradually incorporated until the end of January 2025.
Metro de Madrid currently has got 7,161 employees, out of 1,828 are train drivers, 1,528 are dedicated to direct traveller care, 2,247 provide infrastructure support, and 882 perform different service support functions. This employment creation is linked to the acquisition of 80 trains and an investment of one billion Euros.
