European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The retailer chain Billa Bulgaria plans to open 12 new stores in 2024, including the first ones in Tutrakan and Teteven, and create 250 jobs. The planned sustainable investment in Bulgaria for the whole of 2024 is over BGN 120 million (EUR 60 million).
A warehouse base is also under construction near the Stara Zagora village of Zagore, which is expected to be completed and commissioned in 2025. The base is located on 55 acres and will lead to the creation of 200 jobs. 90% of the electricity there will come from photovoltaic systems.
The latest figures show that in 2023 the company will grow by 15% compared to 2022, reaching a turnover of BGN 1.423 billion. The company also registered a 5.4% growth in terms of number of customers, he added. Indeed, Billa Bulgaria ranks in the top three of the REWE group (the chain's parent company) in terms of turnover growth
