Description
Spanish-German wind turbine manufacturer Siemens Gamesa has announced that it will cut 4,100 jobs worldwide, including in Denmark, Germany, and Spain.
Siemens Gamesa intends to cut up to 370 jobs in Germany, 430 jobs in Spain and 550 jobs in Denmark. The conditions of the programme will be negotiated with employee representatives according to local regulations. The layoffs are part of the ongoing restructuring of Siemens Gamesa, which has been challenged by quality issues that have prevented the company from selling several of its large land turbines. The programme aims to improve the profitability of the company.
Siemens Gamesa, a subsidiary of Siemens Energy, specialises in the manufacturing of wind turbines and onshore/offshore wind services. The company employed about 29,000 people worldwide at the end of 2023.
