European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
German mattress retailer Emma has announced that it will cut 200 jobs worldwide.
The company has revealed that the cuts will affect 80 positions in Germany and 120 at its other offices worldwide.
The restructuring programme is due to less favourable market conditions than expected. The company reveals that it does not expect growth in 2024 and has adjusted its business expansion plans as global economic conditions have hit both the online and home sector.
Founded in 2013, Emma employs 1,120 people worldwide. The company sells its products in 30 countries worldwide and has offices in Germany, Romania, Portugal, Mexico and China.
