Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

Swedish wooden flooring manufacturer Kährs plans to transfer flooring production from its Satulung plant in Romania to its’ factory in Nybro, Sweden. This strategic change will affect approximately 90 employees at the Romanian plant. At the time of writing, there is no information available whether the same number of persons will be employed in Sweden when the relocation has been completed.
In January, 2023, Kährs dismissed 100 staff (SE-Kährs-2023) in Nybro, Sweden, following the plummet of the construction sector which was heavily affected by inflation.
Kährs delivers products to more than 70 countries. At the end of 2023, the company had 1,102 employees. In 2019, the company had 770 employees in Sweden.
