Description
AkzoNobel, the Dutch manufacturer of Dulux paints, has announced a reorganisation in France involving the loss of 211 jobs in its plant of Montataire (Oise), representing around 16% of its workforce in France, as part of a global restructuring plan: Akzo Nobel. The plan also includes the creation of 29 new positions into the Montataire site. At the same time, the company has undertaken to invest €22 million in this site to turn it into a centre of excellence for the production of decorative paints. AkzoNobel employs 1,300 employees in France.
Management has stressed that ‘information and consultation procedures on these projects have begun with staff representatives’ and that it is committed to ‘implementing measures to reduce the number of forced departures and putting in place support measures tailored to each situation’.
