Description
The dairy cooperative Sodiaal is closing its cheese manufacturing site in Entremont, leaving 150 workers redundant. Between 2028 and 2029, emmental production will be transferred to another site in Montauban-de-Bretagne due to the company’s lack of competitiveness in the market and the high production costs in the region. Improving productivity would require significant investments. The company’s research and development teams will also be relocated to the Montauban-de-Bretagne facility. Fifteen to twenty job transfers to Montauban-de-Bretagne might be offered. In response to the closure and its impact on employment, workers went on strike.
