European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The German specialty paper manufacturer Felix Schoeller, based in Osnabrück, is undergoing a restructuring process. The paper mill in Penig is set to close in 2025, affecting 119 employees. Employees in Penig will be offered relocation opportunities at other company sites. In total, Felix Schoeller plans to cut up to 210 jobs at various sites, with up to 150 positions affected at the Weißborn site in Hessen, where around 700 employees currently work. The company cites weak economic conditions, market changes, and increased competitive pressure as reasons for these decisions.
Overall, the company employs approximately 3,700 people.
