Valmet, a Finnish provider of technologies, automation, and services for the pulp, paper, and energy sectors, has initiated cooperation negotiations with the plans to cut 395 positions in Finland.
The cooperation negotiations are part of a global restructuring programme, with total job cuts amounting up to 1,150 positions worldwide Valmet 2024 - WO. Only white-collar employees are affected by the layoffs.
Valmet has a total of 19,000 staff globally, out of which 9,200 are white-collar staff. In Finland, the company has 4,800 white-collar employees.
