European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Volotea, the Spanish low-cost airline, has announced the creation of 100 new jobs in Marseille. This recruitment initiative is part of a broader expansion strategy centred on the development of its operations at the Marseille-Provence Airport: the launch of new flight routes connecting Marseille to some key European destinations, including Prague (Czech Republic), Dubrovnik (Croatia), Faro (Portugal), and Naples (Italy).
In addition to the newly introduced routes, Volotea will also increase the frequency of several of its existing connections, further contributing to the need for additional staff (hirings could go up to 120 jobs). This expansion underlines the airline's commitment to strengthening its presence in the French market.
The latest large restructuring event registered in the ERM for Volotea was in 2023 with the creation of 255 new jobs in 2023 Volotea 2023 - FR.
