Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

The Government of Spain has announced over 40,000 new civil service posts this June. This surge is primarily driven by the imminent retirement of up to 330,000 public employees in 2025, a figure projected to reach 1.5 million over the next decade.
The new employment opportunities will span critical sectors including justice, health, education, taxation, the security forces, and the general state administration, with a notable emphasis on technological roles in cybersecurity and digital management.
Remarkably, examinations are increasingly attracting candidates over 50, who now represent 9% of applicants, motivated by the pursuit of stability in the final stretch of their careers. In total, over 100,000 public sector positions may be offered throughout the coming decade.
