Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

Approximately 150 workers at ASL 1 Abruzzo face potential job losses following the regional government's suspension of an administrative services tender. The decision, made by Abruzzo's health department director, halts the procurement process that would have ensured employment continuity for these staff members.
The affected workers, many with over ten years' experience in essential administrative and technical roles, could be terminated as early as May 16 when the current service provider's extension expires. The temporary business consortium of Biblos, AZ Solutions, and Vigilantes Group has been operating under a nine-month extension that concludes on May 15.
UIL FPL union representatives have called for immediate intervention from Regional President, warning that the suspension could severely impact both healthcare operations and services to citizens. The union is considering protest actions to prevent layoffs while emphasizing that these staff positions are crucial for maintaining essential healthcare services in the province
