Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

Van Geloven, a Dutch manufacturer of prepared snack foods such as Mora and Van Dobben, has announced that it will cut 142 jobs in Europe.
The company plans to close three of its six production facilities by 2026. The negotiations with works councils and trade unions have been initiated. The layoffs will affect 67 employees in the Netherlands: Van Geloven 2025 - NE and 75 in Belgium. The restructuring aims to consolidate snack production at three remaining locations within the country, responding to rising inflation and a highly competitive market.
Currently, Van Geloven has 6 six production sites and employs about 1,100 workers across the Netherlands and Belgium.
