Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

Workday, a US-based multinational software company, has announced that it will cut 1,750 jobs worldwide in 2025.
The layoffs will affect 142 positions in Dublin, Ireland. The Dublin office, which serves as Workday’s European headquarters, currently employs over 2,000 people. Workday stated that affected employees will be offered redundancy packages in line with local standards. The company emphasised its intention to maintain investment in innovation and growth in Ireland. The restructuring aims to realign company resources toward strategic priorities such as artificial intelligence and platform development.
