Description

The Pierburg facility in Lanciano faces potential closure, affecting 135 workers, following parent company Rheinmetall's decision to divest from the automotive sector. The German group's strategy to exit automotive operations threatens the future of the plant, which develops and produces automotive components, modules, and systems.

The UDC political party has called for immediate government intervention to prevent the layoffs, warning of severe consequences for both affected families and the broader economic fabric of the Frentano area and Val di Sangro region. Local representatives emphasize the need for urgent action to protect employment and territorial interests.
