European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Mercadona, a Spanish supermarket chain, has inaugurated its largest logistics centre in Almeirim, Portugal, following an investment of €290 million.
The new facility has created 630 new jobs, further strengthening the company’s commitment to expanding its presence in the Portuguese market.
The training process for the newly hired staff represented an investment of €7.2 million. In addition, 50 employees were promoted to positions of greater responsibility.
Construction of the Almeirim logistics centre began in 2022, and it was officially inaugurated on 29 June 2025.
