Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

Carrefour has announced 175 job cuts at its Milan headquarters as part of a strategic reorganization plan, marking another step in its potential Italian market exit. The French multinational cited complex Italian market conditions characterized by intense competition, diminished purchasing power, and margin pressures from rising energy, logistics costs, and interest rates.
Carrefour stated the restructuring aims to accelerate business transformation focused on the franchising model and relaunch financial and commercial sustainability. The company prioritised managing affected personnel in compliance with regulations and finding solutions with minimal social impact through constructive dialogue with social partners.
