Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

Elcatec, a company focusing in the production of cable harnesses for vehicles, is set to cease operations in the city of Havlíčkův Brod and will lay off all 150 employees by the end of September 2025. The main reason for the closure of the plant is the unfavourable situation in the automotive industry and steadily rising costs.
The number of employees at the company already fell last year. According to the annual report, in 2023, Elcatec employed an average of 349 people, compared to 235 last year.
Elcatec is part of the German company Dieter Braun.
