Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

Rheinmetall, a German defence contractor, is creating up to 400 new jobs at its new site in Weeze (North Rhine-Westphalia) for the production of centre fuselage parts for the F-35 Lightning II fighter aircraft. Production will start in July 2025, with full capacity planned by the end of 2026.
New jobs will be created in production as well as in logistics, research and training facilities. The 30,000 m² plant is part of a security infrastructure project and will supply Northrop Grumman in the USA in future.
The workforce will be built up gradually until autumn 2026.
Rheinmetall is a leading European defence group with locations worldwide. Around 1,000 new jobs were last created in Germany in 2022 Rheinmetall 2022 - DE .
