European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Maderas de Llodio, a Spanish company specialised in the design, manufacturing, and commercialization of veneer, plywood, and engineered wood products, has announced its intention to initiate an employment redundancy process affecting 151 out of 180 employees, according to representative trade unions.
Unions have strongly condemned the move and criticised the company for making the announcement without a formal meeting or providing detailed information. In this regard, Unions have demanded the immediate withdrawal of the proposed dismissals and announced plans to convene a general assembly to coordinate a collective response and keep the workforce informed.

Maderas de Llodio has finally proposed an Employment Redundancy File (ERE) affecting 39 of its 151 employees. The company attributes the decision to "productive and organisational reasons," citing its intention to relocate part of the production to other plants within the group. The announcement was made during the first consultation meeting between the company and the works council, which includes representatives from LAB, ELA, CCOO, and UGT. The works council has strongly opposed the measure, demanding its immediate withdrawal and warning of strike action.
