Description

Belgian supermarket chain Delhaize, part of the Ahold Delhaize group, announced the acquisition of seven Cora supermarkets from the Louis Delhaize group, which will create 300 jobs. The transaction is part of a strategic expansion aimed at reinforcing Delhaize’s market presence in Belgium.

The closure of the Cora stores led to the loss of 1,779 jobs: Cora 2025 - BE . The acquired stores are located in key regions across the country and will be gradually rebranded under the Delhaize name. The transfer includes the operational handover of assets, infrastructure, and commercial activities from Cora to Delhaize, with the integration process expected to be finalised by the end of 2025.
