Description
GE Vernova, the energy division of General Electric group, has announced plans to cut 600 jobs across Europe, including 120 in France GE Vernova 2025-FR.
The layoffs mainly affect support functions such as human resources, project management, finance, and quality. The company will implement the restructuring through a collective termination agreement rather than a formal redundancy plan, aiming for a rapid process. French trade unions have criticised the decision, warning of heavy losses in shared services.
GE Vernova employs around 75,000 worldwide, including 25,000 people across Europe.
The latest restructuring event by GE Vernova recorded by the ERM dates back to 2024 with a loss of 900 jobs GE Vernova 2024-WO.
