Description

The Chinese company Shein, specializing in clothing retail, is set to open its first physical stores worldwide. The brand will establish shops in France within the Paris BHV Marais and five Galeries Lafayette locations in Dijon, Grenoble, Reims, Limoges, and Angers, creating approximately 200 new jobs.

Known for its fast fashion model, Shein has sparked controversy due to the environmental impact of mass clothing production, questionable working conditions in its Chinese factories, and the detection of toxic substances in some of its products. In response, Shein argues that opening stores in France will help revitalize city centers and boost local economies.
