Description

At the beginning of October 2025, the metal and steel casting company Zollern announced that it will cut 150 jobs by the end of 2026. Due to the decline for its product, the management decided to restructure the business internally. The headcount will be reduced at the company's sites in Sigmaringendorf-Laucherthal and Herbertingen.

Management and works council have already agreed on social plan. Affected employees can transfer to a so-called transfer agency (where they will be supported in looking for a new job). In addition, the company offers severance pay to employees willing to leave the company. If employees working in other Zollern divisions leave the company voluntarily, the vacant positions could be offered to employees affected by the job redundancy scheme.

Zollern is one of the only remaining family-owned business still active and has a 300 year long tradition in the region with its origins reaching as far back as 1708.
